Again, welcome to CaregivingDignity.com. The purpose of this website is to support, assist, and give advice to both professional and family caregivers. My heart and compassion are in home care, but I fully understand sometimes long-term care is the best option for a given situation.

A little about who I am: Hi, my name is Katy! I’ll try to make this the short version, as you will get to know me better through my blogs. In 2003, I was a 17 years old in-home Hospice volunteer, preparing to graduate high school and finishing my certified nursing assistant degree. While in college, I worked in an amazing state-of-the-art long-term care facility in the dementia unit as a CNA. This is where my bar for patient care standards was raised very high. I’ve worked in-home hospice as a hospice aide and later as a registered nurse. I’ve worked in long-term care as a licensed practical nurse in a low-quality facility. As an RN, I’ve worked at several hospitals in step down units, as well as, in an inpatient hospice facility. I have spent the last six years in full time ministry; however, I haven’t lost my zeal for caring for patients and their caregivers. My hope is that this blog brings hope, reassurance, and quality of life to all who read it and to those who are receiving their care.
